My artistic abilities aren't quite up to par, so I invested in the MMU2. I found it really satisfying to break this down into sections with Meshmixer, but it wasn't a cakewalk. Primarily because the software frequently freezes up on me. I printed it at 0.2mm layer height and even then, it took an astonishing 51 hours to complete. There's an enormous amount of support material involved. It would be entirely feasible to accomplish this using soluble supports if you wanted to. You'd just need to use the same extruder for red and black, switching out after getting past the shoes. Unfortunately, I'm still working on mastering soluble supports, so I stuck with traditional ones. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but I did 90% infill on the shoes, socks, legs, belly, and mouth. The idea was to counterbalance the rest of the body's weight being concentrated behind the shoes.
