In ancient Greek mythology, Niobe was the daughter of Tantalus and Dione, often cited as her mother, or Eurythemista or Euryanassa, with Pelops and Broteas being her siblings. Her father is referred to as Phrygian king. Niobe boasted of her fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls (the Niobids), to Leto who only had two children, the twins Apollo and Artemis.
