Solstice Star Tree Topper
thingiverse
Create a dazzling starburst at the tree's tallest extremity... My family never possessed a conventional star or angel for our Christmas/Solstice tree, so I crafted one in TinkerCAD! Three distinctive shapes comprise this design: pyramid-shaped points with decorative sides, printed five times; a hexagonal base adorned with a star; and a clip to securely fasten it to the topmost branch. After printing each part, you may wish to smooth out the pyramid points for a sleeker finish, but be certain to flatten and smooth the joints where they connect so they bond strongly. Assemble the star easily using CA glue – a type of super glue. Attach the clip last to ensure it holds securely in place. A hole at the hexagonal base's rear allows you to fill the star with LED Christmas lights if desired. If you choose to do this, insert the lights before gluing everything together for easier access to each point. My finished star spanned 5.5 inches across from tip to tip on its wingspan.
