The revamped E3D extruder for Solidoodle includes a sleek design featuring the 30mm heatsink fan integrated into the front of the assembly, enhancing wire management. Enhancements in future versions may comprise improved wire organization and optimal fan duct placement. Your suggestions are also appreciated. Due to the E3D heatsink fin size, the extruder stepper motor must be moved forward by approximately 4mm. Consequently, the setscrew of the filament drive gear should be unscrewed to adjust it further down the motor shaft. This may cause a front-heavy assembly, yet functionality seems satisfactory. Ultimately, I aspire to redesign the extruder from scratch to eliminate existing workarounds. Your feedback is encouraged for enhancing this design.
