This extruder, featuring a mix of multiple designs and original concepts, allows for use of stock solidoodle carriages alongside an E3D hotend with active cooling fan. It ensures easy hotend removal and includes a cable management feature. Modifications are available to enhance heatsink fan positioning. The author plans to post photos of the entire assembly soon. To optimize alignment, move the extruder stepper motor 4mm forward and adjust the filament drive gear accordingly, despite potential front-heavy balance issues. Further redesigns are anticipated for improved functionality, with suggestions for improvements welcome.
