My Own Take On The Z Axis Anti-Backlash Nut For Solidoodle 3 With Aluminum Bed Installed This Is My Third And Final Version, I'm Very Satisfied With It I Had Some Smaller Springs Lying Around In An Assortment Pack That I Decided To Use Instead Of Buying A Bigger One. This Decision Saved Me Money. The 5/16" UNC Nut Was Easy To Find In A Country Where Metric Is The Standard System. I Found Mine At A Shop That Specializes In Aftermarket Car Parts. After Installing It, I Still Experienced Some Banding On Previous Versions, So Backlash Might Not Be The Only Problem With This Printer. The Threaded Rod May Not Be Centered Properly On The Stepper Motor. It's Time To Switch The Z-Axis To A 5mm Threaded Rod And See If That Improves The Print Quality.
