Try PLA! I have designed an adaptation of Lawsy's fan duct (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:30828) specifically for square extruder models of the Solidoodle 3, eliminating hotspots in the process. This modified duct ensures excellent airflow around the nozzle without risking melting, ideal for PLA printing. Lawsy's original design is perfect if you have upgraded your nozzle or are using a circular version; however, my altered version addresses the frequent melting problem often encountered with the SD3.
