I retrofitted my Solidoodle 3 with three plexiglass panels to retain heat for ABS printing. The installation was a straightforward process involving just two hooks, a knob, and a neodymium magnet, all superglued to the top panel. Cutting three square sheets of plastic measuring 13" x 13" took some effort - I recommend opting for 1/4" thick material for this project if possible. If that's not feasible, however, 1/8", 3/16", or even 3/8" thicknesses can work if you're reusing scraps. Next, attach the clips to the bottom of the two panels at their corners (the attached photo showcases this setup). On each clip, a small magnet was then glued near the top edge, close to the point where the panel is connected to the printer body. If your chosen magnetic material and clips have identical thicknesses of 1/8", there will be about an 1/8" gap surrounding all four edges.
