Introducing my custom hot end air cooling solution for Solidoodle 2! I aimed to avoid adding excess weight and complications with wiring and print head modifications. Using a bigger aquarium pump, I coupled it with a modular hose downloadable from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9006). This hose design allows standard air hoses to fit without alteration. To hold the Lic-line segment, I designed a bracket that snaps on and secured all joints with hot glue for stability during high-speed printing. Printing all parts at once ensures proper hardening. The bracket attaches easily via pre-existing bolt heads, and strong magnets provide extra security. Assembly is simple without tools, and the cooling system effectively prevents sagging on overhangs. An updated version (Mark 2) uses only four hose segments for a lighter, more compact design that avoids Y axis movement limitations. Check out this solution in action at http://youtu.be/Es_axKm0ZFs!
