Solidoodle 2 E3D v6 Bowden Conversion

This is our comprehensive kit to convert the Solidoodle 2, which may also work with other solidoodles, into a bowden feed design equipped with an E3D version 6 hot end. If your extruder motor jigsaw puzzle remains fully functional, then you don't need to print the extruder_motor_jigsaw piece at all. The funnel should fit snugly into place. This kit replaces part of the x-axis carriage and feed system on your printer. To complete this conversion, you'll also need 4mm OD, 2mm ID teflon tubing and a push-in-to-connect pneumatic straight fitting with 1/8" PT x 5/32". You can find these parts on Amazon. Updated: I replaced the motor mount with one that actually functions correctly. Fortunately, it printed smoothly without any support required, using PLA filament. Instructions: Firstly, if your jigsaw extruder pieces remain intact, you don't need to print the extruder motor jigsaw. Now, screw a push-to-fit 5/32 fitting into the end of the funnel and connect tubing to it. Next, mount the motor into the new motor mount and secure it to the filament mount holes on the back using bolts, making sure the end of the motor faces outwards towards the side. Then, carefully remove the x-axis assembly and replace it with the bar mount and x-axis back mount, ensuring that you lock the E3D into place using the bar end. With this setup, our printer is now capable of printing abs, pla, t-glase, nylon, and ninja flex (though the latter required a bit of assistance due to popping out of the extruder motor gears).
