A straightforward thumb nut designed for nylock-type friction action is presented here, which can be scaled to suit various purposes. Key customizable features include height, diameter, internal diameter, knurled portion's height and number of knurls. The design also includes a nophead's polyholes module for precise internal diameter sizing, with an adjustment (85%) that allows thread-cutting through the hole. Alternatively, Taulman 618 nylon prints can be forced into the threaded rod without cutting threads, resulting in an even tighter fit. This design was initially made for an adjustable bed on a Printrbot GO.
