Solid Bed Mounts for Ender 3 / CR-10
thingiverse
I wanted to convert my Creality Ender 3 to have solid bed mounts and I hated the silicone bed mounts that are popular on Amazon (and they're overpriced!). I bought some [round aluminum spacers on Amazon](https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00FGA4YME) and then created these models into which I press-fit the aluminum spacers. Now my print bed is solidly mounted to the Y carriage and, along with a bed probe, I never have to level my bed or deal with springs or silicone spacers ever again. I would suggest printing these out of ABS, ASA, or Polycarbonate for heat resistance. The more perimeters you print with, the better; I printed with 4 perimeters and 40% grid infill. You may want to print with a brim, at least for the strain relief, depending on your bed adhesion. When you press-fit the aluminum spacers they will not be entirely flush on both the top and the bottom of the printed part: the spacers are 22.225mm (7/8 inch) tall and the printed parts should be, with a well-tuned printer, exactly 22mm tall. You want the aluminum spacer to be a tad bit proud so that the spacer is in direct contact with the heated bed, not the plastic part. Thanks to Greg191134 for the strain relief model.
