Solid and Smooth 1kg or 5lb reel holder

( see 2nd photo for updated part) 3 reasons: 1) I broke a few of the initial filament guides when moving printers around. 2) New width of the part makes for easy sizing of 1kg reel spacing (reel holders fit snug against the guide for perfect distance). 3) Install upside down so when you have prints that max out your Z height, the filament has room to move around without breaking. Here is a reel holder that is solid enough to hold a fresh 5lb reel but adjustable to also accommodate 1kg reels. It is designed for "Mendel-style" 3D printers that have a 3030 aluminum extrusion on the cross bar. Having the bearings mounted independent of each other provides extremely smooth feeding action. Instructions Print (2) reelHolderV3 and (1) fliamentGuide files. The shape will lock the reel holders in place on the extrusion and I added a little plastic washer that is built into the part. You can adjust the width to accommodate either 1kg or 5lb reels. Filament cleaner mounts on the front. The filament cleaner is just a rag with a binder clip but works amazing! Hardware used: (3) M5x12 (3) M5 washers (3) T-nuts for 3030 with M5 tapped hole (4) M8x30 bolts (M8x25 might be better but this is what I had) (4) M8 washers (4) M8 nuts (4) 608zz bearings (I used these: http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/608ZZ10-1) Total cost w/ material and shipping around $10.
