Steam Engine with Speed Regulation.\r\nOperation:\r\nThe finger presses the "ignition button" on the crankshaft through the cam wheel, which activates the magnetic coil at the right moment and generates the necessary control times.\r\nThrough the gyroscopic regulator, a second microswitch interrupts the ignition of the coil until the solid speed is reached again.\r\nThe two microswitches are connected in series as switches with the coil and the power source (approximately 5-8V). The microswitch of the gyroscopic regulation must be pressed down in the rest position by the regulator.\r\nIf a suitable resistor is connected in parallel to the coil, an LED lights up during the "ignition" period. This shows how the regulation works.\r\nAt the open contact of the regulator switch, you can connect a second LED that signals when the "ignition" is interrupted. So you can see nicely how the regulation works.\r\nAdjusting the control times and the regulators takes some practice. Only if the machine runs very smoothly will it run for several minutes. If it runs too heavily loaded, the coil draws too much current and overheats quickly.\r\nTo increase the mass on the flywheel, you can insert copper wire or solder, which allows the machine to run even slower.\r\n\r\n\r\nList of Purchased Parts:\r\n2x Neodymium magnet 6x15x6\r\n5x Ball bearing 22x8x7 (fidget spinner bearings)\r\n1x Ball bearing 13x5x3 (often found in old hard drives)\r\n4x Screw M2x10 DIN 912\r\n20x Screw M3x8 DIN 912 A2 (must not be magnetically attached for cylinder attachment)\r\n2x Countersink screw M3x8 DIN 7991\r\n1x Cylinder pin D6x80 \r\n2x Steel ball D10\r\n1x Spring ca. D7x0,4\r\n1x Rubber band as belt\r\n\r\nCopper-coated wire 0.3mm (Wrap the coil space evenly. Goes well with the drill and the winding aid)\r\n2x Microswitch 20x11,6x5 open/close\r\n1x Switch on/off\r\n2x LED+resistor
