soldering station
thingiverse
A convenient soldering station setup. Instructions follow. This small footprint soldering station presents a challenge when crafting a plastic holder for the iron. Holding the hot, pointed end upwards requires some adaptation. Initially, it takes time to break the habit of inserting the heated tip into the holder, but this habit is easily broken. After several months of use, I'm highly satisfied with this setup. The photo displays a 40W Weller. The round can serves as a cleaning container for tip cleaning using a pot scrubber. It accommodates two standard size 4 oz solder rolls and / or electrical tape through the two slots. Unfortunately, the extra holder for a pencil is not needed due to unused space in this design. To enhance stability, it's recommended to place lead weights, BB pellets, or dense objects inside the round can at its bottom. This will greatly benefit users. This printed model took 2 hours using ABS filament (60 grams), a Z-resolution of 0.3mm and moderate printing speed. The setup is compatible with metric measurements as well.
