Soldering reel stand
thingiverse
I always make sure to have plenty of large spools of solder on hand for my projects, usually storing them upright but getting frustrated with having to pull off coils every time I need one. Recently, after acquiring a 3D printer, I decided to design and print a stand that would solve this problem. To minimize material usage, I added holes to the spindle, which incidentally also serves as a test for my retraction settings - a useful feature considering I end up with a functional part regardless. The original Inventor files are available for customization, allowing you to tailor the size to suit your needs, although I believe this design accommodates standard spools of solder.
