Solder Spool Stand Improved
thingiverse
This is a comprehensive makeover of the Solder Spool Stand by Zebble, Wade Weppler, which itself is a remix of Arthur Guy's Solder Stand. It requires 40% more filament and prints in two-thirds the time thanks to sparse cutouts. Since I typically cut solder with my soldering iron, I have fashioned the solder feeder out of straightened metal wire. Underneath the feeder, a melt-resistant M8 washer acts as both decoration and backing support. Most notably, I wrote the code entirely from scratch in OpenSCAD and have released it under GPL terms so that it can be freely remixed without restriction. Instructions This was printed in ABS with 60% infill, 0.3mm shell thickness. Easy to print, the metal feeder only needs to be bent a bit of 1.8~2mm metal wire into shape using long nose pliers. The M8 washer can simply be pressed into place within the groove designed to accept it.
