Solder Spool Holder
thingiverse
This spool holder is built to fit a Kester 1-pound spool weighing exactly 454 grams. It consists of two matching components that snap together seamlessly, often referred to as "hermaphroditic" parts, and are securely held in place by a single 10-32 screw measuring at least 3/4 inch long and accompanied by a corresponding nut through the center of the spool. Alternatively, smaller hardware such as ASE or Metric washers can also be used for this purpose. I added small pockets to the bottom for adhesive-backed felt disks that can be easily obtained from Dollar Tree stores, but similar results can be achieved using 3/4-inch diameter rubber feet to prevent sliding. Both parts were printed simultaneously on my Anet A6 printer utilizing CraftWare's slicer in easy medium mode. April 1, 2018 Visit an improved design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2821423
