The design inspiration comes from an eBay listing featuring a similar spool. The Thing was created specifically for this type of spool, ensuring a seamless fit. Two STL versions are available: version 001, which has been used in the photos provided, and version 002, featuring minor tweaks to the axle for easier spool installation and reduced frustration caused by forgotten adjustments. While version 002 may offer improvements, its performance remains untested; the initial design proved satisfactory, so it was left unchanged.
