Solder holder
thingiverse
Designed to securely hold a standard roll of solder and serve as a single component to prevent the usual instability found in multiple parts. Printed in red for leaded solder and green for lead-free options. Robustly constructed, these holders can withstand rough handling, making them extremely convenient for quickly grabbing and then setting aside when finished. The attached roll is a 500g weight of 60/40, 0.7mm solder from Multicomp, featuring an inner diameter of 20mm, outer diameter of 63mm, and a length of 57mm. Engineered to accommodate any rod with a bore size of at least 19mm and up to 65mm in length. A 5mm hole is strategically positioned through the centre of the support "rod" to provide an optional reinforcement point for an M5 rod or similar structural element, should it be necessary. Although this feature has not been required after over a year of use. The feed hole measures 2mm in diameter, allowing most standard electronics solder rods to pass through with ease. It is recommended to drill out the hole slightly to ensure smooth passage, but this was not strictly necessary in my experience. The holder's backside features a conical shape for effortless insertion of solder rods.
