Solder fumes extractor - 140mm computer fan
thingiverse
Supports are required solely for the filter support part. This part should be mounted with the "mounting lip" facing upwards. A straightforward soldering fumes extractor is based around a 140mm computer fan that I had on hand and some carbon filters (Cooke & Lewis CARBFILT7), which are very reasonably priced. Since computer fans have standardized dimensions, this design should accommodate a wide range of 140mm fans. The assembly of the two main parts relies solely on friction, but they can easily be glued together if needed. In my setup, I am powering the fan using USB, thanks to the help of a DC boost converter (inexpensive on Amazon).
