solder fume fan mark 2
thingiverse
I built my own solder fume extractor from scratch, ditching the old PC fan that was too loud, bulky, and inefficient for precision soldering tasks. I opted for a sleeker design featuring a 60mm x 60mm fan bolted to a cone-shaped component, with a crucial twist: a carbon filter cloth sandwiched between the two halves. This clever setup allows for effortless replacement of the filter after months of use, maintaining its effectiveness and prolonging its lifespan. The entire assembly rests on a sturdy tripod, the kind you can pick up at a dollar store, providing stability and flexibility to move around with ease. Power options include a 12V adapter or a battery, giving users the freedom to choose their preferred source of energy.
