Simple but effective solder fume extractor. Print instructionsAdditionaly to the 3D printed parts you will need: 1x Fan 80mm 1x activated charcoal filter 130mm x 130mm x 10mm 4x M3x30mm screws 8x M3x18mm screws with flat countersunk heads 8x M3 inserts 1x power supply for the fan Optionally you may need: 4x M3 inserts 1x PWM controlled 1x power jack Step 1 Print the two parts. Orient the funnel to sit on the print bed with the small opening facing up. And the filter holder with the flat surface facing the printbed. This way you should not have to activate any support. Step 2 To mount the fan you can melt 4 screw inserts into the funnel. I used these inserts https://shop.kvt-fastening.de/de/item/001M3.html but any other similar insert should work. But you can also just screw the screws into the printed part. Just be gentle to not strip the threads! Use 4 pcs. M3x30 screws to mount the fan (for a 25mm thick fan). Also insert the 8 M3 inserts in the remaining holes on the front. They will be used to mount the filter frame. I used this fan (SANYO DENKI 9GA0812P4J0011) because it is quite powerfull and can be controlled via PWM but any 80mm fan will work. Step 3 Buy a filter with the dimensions 130mm x 130mm x 10mm like this one: https://at.rs-online.com/web/p/lotrauch-absaug-filter/1234906/ Step 4 Assemble the filter frame to the funnel with 8 pcs. M3*18 flat countersunk screws. Optional Add a speed controller to the fan and hide the electronics inside. As you can see on the pictures I drilled two holes into the funnel to put a power jack and the electronics inside. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DC-Motor-Speed-Governor-PWM-Stepless-Speed-Controller-Regulator-LED-Dimming-5V-16V-10A-Ultra-High/32900670848.html === UPDATE MK2 === I added a cover for the fan. The M3 Nuts in the filter body got replaced by M3 inserts. The screw holes for the fan mount are now through-holes so that longer screws can also be used and don't have to be cut to size.
