Solder Fume Extractor & Helping Hands
thingiverse
I decided to combine a solder fume extractor with attachable helping hands by integrating them into a single unit. Two slots are provided for mini rocker switches, as I also included a custom LED light that's powered by a 12v 5amp DC power supply. The design revolves around a 120mm x 38mm fan, but it can be easily modified to accommodate a 25mm revision. To ensure the top and back cover assemble securely, I made them lock into place using neodymium magnets. The arms for the coolant pipes (helping hands) are separate components that snap into place, allowing users to use or remove them as needed. This design also makes it possible to use the fume extractor without the helping hands if desired. I printed this design without supports, but I recommend using supports for the back cover to achieve a smooth finish.
