Solder Fume Extractor Foot w/Separate Pin
thingiverse
Right now, this is a work in progress since I just started printing it and can't be sure it will fit together properly. The design has been modified to address some mechanical weakness concerns on the original part. Some people had pointed out that the hinge pin tends to snap off easily. Instead of trying to print the foot with more infill or a thicker perimeter, I decided to make the hinge pin a separate part that can be printed using different settings to optimize its strength. An added bonus is that the foot can now be printed without weakening the hinge. The rest of the parts and instructions are on the original part. It was designed for a 120mm fan, so scale all parts accordingly for different sized fans. If you use the vertical printing version of the pin, I recommend printing it solid with three perimeter layers to give it more strength. I also included a version that has a side shaved off, which should allow that side to lay flat on the build plate and provide a stronger part in the required axes. The foot itself can be printed with minimal infill and less shell thickness. This thing was made with Tinkercad, and you can edit it online. The source file for all parts is here, provided for reference - but I wouldn't recommend printing that, as it wouldn't allow you to adjust the settings for the two pieces.
