Solder Fume Extractor (by sneakypoo) CPU Fan Adapter Plate
thingiverse
This variant is a print of the original Solder Fume Extractor at 68 percent using an old CPU fan, which measures 80 x 80. The CPU fan features a slightly larger fan cage due to its design. This piece I designed fits snugly between the fan and the rest of the assembly, ensuring a clean interface without air leaks. I built it thick enough for M3 brass heat sets to be used, eliminating the need for nuts and bolts. Eight M3 brass heat sets, four M3 12mm black oxide screws, and four 6mm black oxide screws were used in its construction, resulting in a clean installation. It works perfectly and, despite being more compact overall, still draws soldering fumes while sitting about 8 inches away from the workspace. With limited desk space, this more compact model suits my needs nicely. I'd like to extend my gratitude to sneakypoo for the original design. It's excellent work, and I recommend downloading the complete Solder Fume Extractor parts from their source. Only my adapter plate is available for download here.
