Solder Fume Extractor
thingiverse
Relying on the Hakko FA-400 as its inspiration, this solder fume extractor offers versatility in placement - horizontally for increased suction speed or vertically for higher suction volume. The enclosed .stl files are configured to work with a 120mm fan and a 130mm x 130mm carbon filter identical to the Hakko extractor's and its counterparts'. Filters from the Weller benchtop fume extractor also fit. To customize, simply adjust the .scad file parameters for a different-sized fan or filter. Print out the 'fume_extractor.stl', optionally the 'filter_holder.stl' if your filter is loose, and consider a fan grill like this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17028. Secure the fan with fan screws or 1/2" #6 bolts, insert the filter, and slide the holder over it if necessary. Power the 12v fan using a spare wall wart for completion.
