Solder fume extractor
thingiverse
I decided to create some solder fume extractors for a lab using fans I already had on hand - 60mm x 25mm units. After coming across design 4001092, which featured a 60x15mm fan, I opted to start over and redesign all the parts from scratch, deciding to mount them on a stand instead. The assembly process turned out to be very straightforward; it utilizes a carbon filter cut-out attached to a frame for easy foam replacement. To power my fan, I soldered its wires directly into a 12V adapter. Fortunately, the fan I used came with extra wires for a tach sensor and alarm function, but they weren't necessary in this setup. To complete the project, I needed M3x35 mm screws and some matching M3 nuts. When it comes to sourcing carbon filter material, Amazon is an excellent option.
