Solar water heater pump
thingiverse
This is a compact yet efficient solar water heater pump. It's based on the Arduino 328p microcontroller, and I used an Arduino Nano and Mini Pro for this project. Versions: 2017 The original version from 2016, known as "waterpump-sk3.zip", worked for about 1.5 years and was highly recommended. 2018 The advanced version with a menu OLED display, known as "waterpump-sk4.1.zip", worked for approximately two months but has since been deprecated. 2019 Two versions were released: the Slovak language version, labeled as "waterpump-sk4.3", and the English language version, labeled as "waterpump-en4.3". Other components used in this project include: * 1x hose with a diameter of 1/2 inch to create a spiral container for water heating. * 1x flexible green garden hose with a diameter of 1/2 inch. * 1 input filter made from foam to prevent debris from entering the system. * 1 one-way valve that ensures the water pump is always supplied with water. * A 2A diode bridge for supplying energy to the Arduino controller. * A DC/DC converter that converts 24V DC to 5V DC to power the Arduino Nano. * 1x Arduino Nano or Mini Pro microcontroller with an IC 328p processor. * 1x OLED display with a size of 0.96 inch and I2C interface. * 1x PC817 optoisolator for isolating electrical signals. * 1x IRF640N mosfet to control the flow of electrical current. * 1x 24 VDC brushless water pump that can handle up to 800L/h with a maximum height of 5m and input/output hose diameters of 1/2 inch. The system also includes: * 1x thermosensor for measuring temperature, waterproof and sealed at the output of the spiral heater. * Some resistors with a resistance of 10kohm. * 3x tactile buttons for navigating the menu (up, down, select). * An industry case with an IP6x rating or similar for protecting the electronics. * A plexiglass cover for the OLED display. * Hot glue and wires for securing and connecting components. * A car 12V DC battery or any other suitable power source or solar panel to provide energy.
