Solar Telescope Guide
thingiverse
This is a simple and safe device for aligning a telescope with the Sun. The small disc is positioned nearer the Sun. When the telescope is aligned, the shadow of the small disc fits an indent in the larger disc and a light spot highlights a dimple in centre of the large disc. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ATTEMPT TO OBSERVE THE SUN THROUGH A TELESCOPE WITHOUT A CERTIFIED SOLAR FILTER. FAILURE TO HAVE AN APPROVED SOLAR FILTER IN PLACE CAN RESULT IN INSTANT BLINDNESS. To complete this device you will need 9 M2x8 countersunk screws. Be sure to locate the holes carefully to ensure decent alignment of the disks. The small Skywatcher style dovetail can be left off for Meade or William Optics style finderscope brackets. Standard white PLA filament is recommended with 20% infill.
