Solar system planets and sun

thingiverse

My eight year old had a project at school about our solar system, so we decided to print out the planets according to his teacher's guidelines, and made a quick design in Tinkercad using half spheres with a thickness of 2mm. You can find the instructions in Dutch in a picture, but let me give you a quick try in English. Here are the diameters: Sun - 14cm Mercury - 2cm Venus - 2.4cm Earth - 3cm Mars - 2cm Jupiter - 8cm Saturn - 5cm Uranus - 4cm Neptune - 4cm Pluto - 1cm (Yes, we know about that Pluto thing) Overview and Background: Lesson Plan and Activity: Materials Needed: Some glue and a cord to hang the planets in the classroom. And some paint if you'd like to paint them, which you probably will want.
