This is a three-dimensional printable, fully functional mechanical model of the solar system. All eight planets are represented, and yes, I acknowledge the Pluto controversy. The orbits and planets are not to scale, but their orbital periods are accurate within a three percent margin relative to one another. Once assembled, moving any orbital ring will move all others at the corresponding rate. There are a total of 102 parts required for this build, with several components needing to be glued together. You'll also need to drill small blind holes in each of the outer six rings or glue them to the surfaces.
