In "Mysterium Cosmographicum," Johannes Kepler presented his first significant astronomical study, advocating for the Copernican system. He discovered that the five Platonic solids could be inscribed and circumscribed by spheres uniquely, leading to six layers when nested inside one another. These layers, representing the six known planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn - were arranged correctly as octahedron, icosahedron, dodecahedron, tetrahedron, and cube. By doing so, he positioned the spheres at intervals that matched each planet's path relative to the sun, assuming they orbit around it.
