This is a premium kit for the top-tier mount designed for solar panels mounted on the roof of a motorhome or other vehicle, including large vehicles like horse lorries. Be sure to install solar panels securely onto the moving vehicle's roof. A fundamental principle must be applied when using these mounts: You must leave an air gap behind every solar panel to prevent overheating, which can easily be achieved by acquiring 65mm angle bars that will maintain a comfortable 25mm space for airflow. However, avoid exposing the high-speed airflow under the panels while driving as it might rip them off. To guarantee structural integrity, use these modules to create a wind shroud, applying Sikaflex (a special kind of silicon sealant) at the front of the panel after attaching it with 65mm aluminum angle. Note that even some popular solar panel mounts sold on eBay are injection-molded and lack structural quality. Solar panels always demand a solid, secure mounting. A note has been added since the original mount type was mistakenly specified - this kit now comes with an angled shelf designed to help fill a 5% space gap more efficiently. Installation Guidelines These wind shrouds were specifically engineered to be printed in pairs on a Da Vinci 1.0 printer. Print speed is set at 100mm per second using 0.25mm layers and a low infill rate of just 5%. To prevent the print from warping or lifting off the build platform, use a ten-line skirt during printing. Printer settings are crucial for a perfect finish: Three-layer top and bottom with two layers for the wall, set hot end to 230 degrees and the bed to 90 degrees. Prints will weigh around 100g of filament and take about two hours each to complete when using this low infill rate. Mounts for a standard one-meter solar panel are sold separately - corner mounts come in sets of one while plain mounts come in packs of five, all required for safe mounting.
