Solar Hive
thingiverse
Random parametric "bee hive" LED lamp. Fully customizable, optionally powered by a solar cell that can be mounted on the back or elsewhere entirely. I will upload example .stl files - make your own one with OpenSCAD or Makerbot Customizer. This lamp can be powered like a normal LED lamp using 4-12 V, or as a solar-powered outdoor night lamp that recharges during the day and glows in random patterns during the night at a specified time. Measured standby energy consumption is below 10 mA, operational power consumption ranges from 20 to 80 mA depending on the number of LEDs glowing at any given time. Future improvements are possible. This replaces AllpartsofDemo.zip from August 3rd. ____________________ Update: August 3rd. * The Arduino sketch has been corrected. The new version is SolarHiveArduinoSketchRC5.ino and can be downloaded from "Thing Files". __________________________ Update: August 5th. * AllPartsofDemo.zip has been updated with new files. * A new zip file, SolarHive_DemoAllPartsRC5_4inch.zip, contains demo .stl files split into sub-10 cm parts (4 inches), along with a rectangular solar and battery housing.
