ATTENTION: ONLY POINT YOUR CAMERA AT THE SUN WITH PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT LOOKING DIRECTLY AT THE SUN! NEVER EVER TRY TO LOOK THROUGH THIS FINDER WHEN IT'S POINTED AT THE SUN! - It's strictly for indirect pointing only. IF YOU IGNORE THESE WARNINGS, YOUR CAMERA OR EYES MAY BE SEVERELY DAMAGED! YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN WITH THIS PRINT; USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! This solar finder attaches to a standard camera hotshoe with ease. Its primary function is to help you locate the sun, especially when using long focal length lenses. The sun's rays pass through a small hole and shine on a circular screen, creating a precise dot of light. Move your camera until the dot is centered on the screen; this will roughly point the camera at the sun. The extended separator between the finder and hotshoe provides extra support for longer diameter lenses and solar filters. For optimal results, use bright filaments like white ones. This allows the screen to become translucent, making it even simpler to point your camera at the sun than by looking through the side holes. Check out the pictures for both methods of using this device.
