Solar Filter Holder - Canon 58mm lens with 2 tabs

This solar filter film holder is specifically designed to fit a Canon EF 58mm lens perfectly. Initially, I was looking at existing versions on Thingiverse that had three locking tabs, but my lenses require just two for secure fitment. Furthermore, other holders introduced unwanted wrinkles in the film, which wasn't acceptable to me. This one can be easily removed during full totality for normal exposure. Print it exactly as shown. It's designed to print without supports and to press-fit the film into the body cavity using the top. Cut the film to match the size of the top, so it fits snugly inside. Most printers will print the top with a reasonable friction fit, but if it's not tight enough, taping in the corners works fine. HungryHam enhanced this design with an excellent filter holder cover that worked flawlessly for me during the eclipse.
