A Solar Cap for Your Celestron LCM 114 Telescope. This design may also fit other telescopes with a 130mm opening. To make this solar cap, you'll need some solar film. You can find it here: Solar Film for Telescopes (https://www.amazon.com/Solar-Filter-Telescopes-Binoculars-Cameras/dp/B01770FDAC/ref=sr_1_8) Here's How to Make Your Solar Cap: Print both the solar cap and clip in cover. Cut your solar film to match the size of the clip in cover. Place the film in the square recess on the cap with the black side facing you. Snap the retaining cover into place (see photos for an assembled cap). If you're interested, check out my other designs. I have a handheld solar viewer that can be made with leftover solar film: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2778576 Be sure to test your solar cap before use. Make sure the cap fits snugly in the telescope tube and secure it with tape if needed. Also, check that the retaining clip and film are securely in place before using the telescope. Never look at the sun directly through a telescope without solar film. Exercise caution when using this device.
