The future of energy production is fusion, but fusion remains years away from being proven to work effectively. Until then, we must rely on other means to achieve independence from fossil fuels. One way to do this is by utilizing solar power, but traditional large-scale solar plants can be dull and uninviting. A solution is to create "solar trees" like the one I designed. Using these trees offers multiple benefits that make them a superior option for ecology and climate as well. For instance, the spacing between panels allows light and rain to reach underneath the installation, enabling plants to grow and thrive beneath it. Additionally, because the trunk is made from locally sourced wood, it functions as a carbon sink, reducing CO2 in the air. At the end of its life cycle, components can be easily separated into raw parts and recycled. This tree has been designed for use in both nature and urban areas. The lowest solar cells are positioned at a height of 3 meters, allowing cars, cyclists, and pedestrians to pass underneath it. It is also tall enough to permit bushes and plants to grow beneath it. The 3D model includes the foundation and is designed to be constructed realistically in the real world. The hexagonal solar cells would need to be custom-made or substituted with regular cells. The model is made entirely of quads and has a low poly count. Thanks to its high-quality textures, this model can be used for scenes that require detail as well as those where low poly is necessary. This model is ready for rendering, suitable for subdivision, and features PBR capabilities.
