The future of energy production is fusion, but fusion remains years away from even being proven to work. Until then, we must rely on other means to gain independence from fossil fuels. One way to achieve this is by harnessing the power of solar energy, but large-scale solar plants are often dull and uninspiring. A more appealing solution is to create "solar trees" like the one I have modeled. Using these trees offers numerous benefits that make them a better option for both ecology and climate. For example, the spacing between panels allows light and rain to reach underneath the installation, enabling plants to thrive beneath it. Additionally, because the trunk is made from local wood, it serves as a carbon storage, reducing CO2 levels in the air. At the end of its life cycle, components can be easily disassembled into raw parts for recycling. This design has been optimized for use both in nature and urban areas. The lowest solar cells are placed at a height of 3 meters, allowing vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians to pass underneath it without obstruction. It is also tall enough to permit bushes and plants to grow beneath it. The accompanying 3D model includes the foundation and has been designed with realistic construction in mind. To replicate the hexagonal solar cells, custom-made or regular cells would be required. The model consists entirely of quads and features a low poly count, making it suitable for scenes requiring both high detail and low poly counts. Thanks to its high-quality textures, this model can be used in various applications, from detailed scenes to those where low poly is essential. This model is also render-ready, allowing for subdivision, and features PBR capabilities.
