soil moisture sensor v1.2 - case
thingiverse
I'm using a capacitive moisture sensor that's widely available on Amazon, such as the BBOXIM Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor. To make it more rugged and waterproof, I've added some extra protection. I've used 4x M2.5x10 screws to secure the sensor cable inside the case, making sure it fits snugly. To connect the sensor directly to the board, I removed the molex socket and soldered the cable on. The casing is made of PETG, which works well for this project - other materials should also be suitable. You can find the capacitive moisture sensor on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/BBOXIM-Capacitive-Corrosion-Resistant-Interface/dp/B07VR8CHY8/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=soil+moisture+1.2&qid=1565354526&s=gateway&sr=8-11 Alternatively, you can also get it on Aliexpress at https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32886868425.html
