Soil Block Maker

This is a compact tool for kick-starting seedlings that measures 2 inches by 2 inches by 2 inches. It includes a 5/8 inch opening where seeds can be precisely planted. Begin by mixing seed starting soil with water in a bowl or bucket, stirring until the mixture clumps together. With the piston elevated, carefully push the block into the soil and then transfer it to a tray. Next, lower the piston to release the compacted soil block. Insert 2 or 3 seeds directly into the center of the soil block and cover them lightly with additional soil by collapsing the hole. Once seedlings are ready for transplantation, move the entire soil block straight to your garden. It is suggested that you print the piston sideways using supports. The tool can be printed without any support structures. To prevent the piston from falling out of its designated slot in the block, rotate it 90 degrees immediately after inserting through the rectangular opening in the block.
