Soft Tape Measure Spool (snap in version)
thingiverse
I loved the original so much, but I didn't like to have to glue the bottom core in. Because of that I did a small redesign so it will snap in.I printed with the Outer at 50mm and 45mm and both worked great.Make sure the snap in core is printed sideways; otherwise it will snap when pushing it in.Make sure the bottom of the Outer is nice and clean (doesn't need to be flush with Core in) so that it will fit in all the way to snap. The fit is a bit tight, but with some wiggling and pushing it will snap in just fine.Use "tree" supports (Cura), and the supports should come out easily from the middle of the Core Receiver (though, I'm not sure if supports are entirely necessary for the Core Receiver).Let me know if something needs adjusting, I'm super new to design and even more to 3D printing.
