Sofirn SP36 MTB mount

Sofirn SP36 mount for Enduro/Downhill MTB. My goal was to make a mount tough enough to prevent disassembly or rotation when the fork takes big hits. But yet not so chunky that it looks like a motorcycle headlight. I also wanted to make it low-profile (as much as possible) to reduce torque on the mount and for more clearance to bring bars to hips on steep jumps or bunny hops. The layers are printed perpendicular to the big forces experienced by the flashlight to prevent delamination. Print at standard quality with no supports. There are 2 versions: single clamp (trail) and double clamp (enduro/DH).Parts required for full assembly:Aluminium GoPro handlebar clamp mount (Aliexpress: ~$3)4.8 mm zip tiesold inner tubeMount assemblyPrint the mountSlide the 3D-printed mount into the aluminium GoPro handlebar clamp. Push it all the way down.Make sure all points of the 3D-printed mount's base make full contact with the aluminium clamp. This helps distribute the forces this 433g soda can makes when you smash through rock gardens or send huge drops to flat.Screw the two pieces together at the GoPro joint, locking everything together.Flashlight installationSlice rings from an old inner tube. Slide the rubber rings around the 3D-printed mount so it grips the flashlight.Align the flashlight so the charging port is still accessible while flashlight is mounted. I have my switch aligned to 1 o'clock and the charging port at 7 o'clock. Zip tie the narrow body of the flashlight onto the 3D-printed mount, compressing the rubber rings. For more snugness, wrap the narrow body of the flashlight with some gorilla tape before cinching it down with zip ties.Mount the aluminium clamp to your handlebars. Place it as close to your stem as possible. This is the thickest part of your handlebar and closest to the middle so it doesn't disrupt balance. Optionally, wrap your bars with some gorilla tape first.Charging options1) Plug in USB-C cable and charge while mounted.2) Unscrew the front cylinder of the flashlight to swap batteries on long rides or to remove them for charging externally.3) Remove the front bolt of the aluminium clamp, slide the clamp toward the narrower part of your bar, then twist the whole flashlight unit off the handlebars.
