I crafted this device to secure onto standard 16 or 20 ounce soda bottles. It features an inward sloping opening, just like most bug traps, and comes equipped with a keyhole for hanging on a wall anchor. The threaded connection meets PCO-1881 standards, accommodating numerous containers. You can use the provided funnel to fill the trap; some individuals suggest this helps pests locate and enter more easily. A few websites recommend covering the trap with a sock, creating a dark, welcoming space that attracts spiders. This strategy appears effective for those unwanted guests but has yet to produce consistent results when it comes to mosquitoes. **Instructions** I've successfully caught bees and flies, however I have not yet discovered the right bait for attracting mosquitoes. If you've found something that works, please share your findings! My attempts so far include: - Sugar water mixed with yeast (brown sugar, white sugar) - Water from stagnant ponds - Gatorade containing electrolytes similar to human sweat - Rotting orange juice - Hummingbird nectar All of the above options tested individually and combined; in one scenario I also added a spritz of perfume or cologne to mimic human scent. In another, I used yeast to generate CO2 gas.
