Soda Cap Painting Rack
thingiverse
For Miniature Painting, I use Caps from Soda Bottles, along side my wet palette. I like to dry brush a lot, and mix a lot of custom washes, and I found the tip of using soda bottle caps as cheap reusable paint cups. when you are dry brushing, a wet palette, as awesome as they are, does the opposite of what you need with the paint. I found I ended up with a pile of soda caps, in a disorganized mess, and stored them in a plastic tub when not in use, and if I wasn't painting enough, they would get dust or cat hair in them, until I had this idea to fix my issues. So I designed a rack to store the caps in, when not in use, slotting them in upside down, to keep dust and debris out. with Modular racks of single cap height, for when I am using them that slot together, and stack, along with a lid for the top of the stack, to keep the dust and debris out while the paint in the cap dries, and once they are dry, they go back in the storage rack. Did a fair number of test prints until I had a design that slots together easily, and added a base to the storage rack, so I can pick up and move it around without issue. If you use soda caps for painting, let me know what you think.
