Soda Bottle Spout - Short

Maintaining proper hydration is key when participating in sports and other high-intensity activities. Wearing a helmet or heavy equipment can make it difficult to access the top of a water bottle. These no-touch water spouts screw onto standard soda bottles, allowing them to be reused as water bottles for sports and other activities. A loop at the back enables easy attachment to a hanger or handle. This version of the spout is designed specifically for smaller printers with limited print volume. It fits diagonally on a four-inch square printbed and requires slightly less time and material to print than full-size versions. The threads are based on the PCO-1881 beverage bottle thread standard, ensuring compatibility with most standard plastic soda bottles. I have created several variations of this design, including one with a blank flag for adding your own label and another without a label area. These options allow users to save filament and print time. I've also included a short version for use with printers that have smaller printbeds or for users who want to spend less time and material on printing. To complete the prints, standard off-the-shelf parts are required: one food-grade hose washer per spout and a short length of food-safe 3/8-inch tubing. The hose washers press into the bottom of the threaded portion of the spout to seal against the bottle's neck. The tubing should reach the bottom of the bottle. Assembly and Use: 1. Trim off the small round feet at the end of the nozzle, as they are only there for extra bed adhesion. 2. Assemble the pieces as shown in the photos. 3. Fill your bottle with water and screw the spout onto the threaded neck in place of the bottle's cap. 4. A good firm squeeze on the bottle should result in a stream of water from the nozzle. Recommendations: 1. Print with more perimeters than usual to prevent leakage through gaps. 2. Set your slicer for a bit of over-extrusion to use more filament and fill gaps between layers. 3. Print these without support, as your slicer might try to fill the water channel with support material. If you decide to add supports for the hanger loop at the back, generate only printbed supports. 4. Food-grade hose washers are commonly available for use with recreational vehicle utility hookups and can be found where RV accessories are sold. 5. Although most contact is limited to the bottle and dip tube, water will flow through the printed nozzle during use, so choose your filament accordingly. 6. Be sure to rinse and dry your spouts thoroughly after use.
