Socket for Orbit dc Hose bib valves 24v
thingiverse
I'm working on a wireless sprinkler project that involves scattering multiple sprinkler valves and controllers around the yard, giving me easy access to the main sprinkler or a hose bib. My goal is to control them using a Raspberry Pi and low-power Arduino chips running on battery power. I'll also be utilizing data from my weather station, which was designed specifically for this purpose - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2854433. My initial challenge was finding a socket that would work with the Orbit 91592 type valves I have. This obstacle blocked my progress initially. This block is the first step in my sprinkler valve journey. My plan involves incorporating this socket on the bottom or back of a waterproof case, which I haven't yet designed. As I continue working on this project, I'll be updating the instructions. This project was made using Tinkercad - edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/hp5V9x7xIGn. I've uploaded a new version of the connector, which I call v2.5. The epoxy wells were too small in the previous version, resulting in excess epoxy in unwanted places. So, I enlarged the wells.
