You can easily connect 21cm high baseboards to IKEA cabinets by placing the nut into it and securing it with screws on any of the three mounting plates. This prevents the baseboards from shifting relative to each other. Since the screws are driven straight in, there is no tension between the connected parts and nothing slips out of place. The 4.4mm holes for the screws allow you to use short self-tapping screws very well (please note a maximum length of about 16mm).
