Sock Assist

Sock Assist

myminifactory

This object serves as a helpful tool for individuals who need assistance putting on socks, much like similar products that can be found online for $10-$30 (visit https://www.arthritissupplies.com/search.asp?keyword=sock&search= to see examples). The design I created can be printed at home for under $5 ($4.24 in material costs alone), as long as it is done correctly with proper supports and infill settings. There are several different types of sock aids available, but this one stands out because it's 3D printable, doesn't require additional materials, and is both durable and affordable. Although the aid works effectively, it performs best on carpet to prevent sliding around while putting on socks. The design can be refined to provide a more stable experience, and I had bigger plans in mind but ran out of time. This sock aid was printed using PLA with 50% infill. To accommodate my printer's size limitations, I scaled down the design by 10%, but the full-size version is comparable to existing products on the market.
